Here is a picture of my son Colton and I with a small 5x5 we took on the last week of general season in Oregon. We came back to some elk that we had been working earlier and I immediately could here two bulls fighting. Colton tucked up into the brush while I moved in. I got to within 20 yards and while trying to find an opening another elk busted, spooking the two bulls. I instantly heard Colton Cow calling 100 yards behind me to settle them down. I repositioned while Colton kept calling and a calf came back up the hill. Moments later this bull came up panting from the fight. I stopped him at 27 yards for nice broadside shot. He is not the biggest one we called in this year |
but having my 9 year old call it in for me made it pretty special. Colton uses both mini master diaphragms and a bully bull tube. Colton is also this years RMEF World Elk Calling Champion in the Pee Wee division.
Thanks for great products, Kurt Crawford |

Hi Rocky, I know my son Nick's bull is a little bigger then this one but your calls did the trick on this eastern Oregon 4x4 as well. I used the bully bull tube to locate the bull and the Mellow Yellow Momma to bring him into 20 yards for a deadly shot and short recovery (6 yards!). Sept. 10th. Thanks for the great calls. -- Jim Best

Hi, this is Nick Best with my 2010 eastern Oregon bull. I shot the bull Sep. 20 after calling in several 6 points that day. My brother and I heard two bulls bugle below us so we each picked one and headed in that general direction. The bull my brother was chasing soon went silent and he moved over to help call for me. He was 100 yards back with the who's yrr daddy and I was up front with the bully bull tube. The bull would scream and I would scream back until finally he had had enough.
|
| He rushed in to around 15 yards where I double lunged him. The bull ran about 5 yards, stopped, turned around and came back to the calling where I double lunged him a second time. He ran about 30 yards and then it was all over... for him not us, as it took from 11:00am until 12:30am the next day to pack him out! The bull gross scores 361. |

Rocky,
Just discovering your elk calls this year, i must say that i found the replacements for all my other calls. Although i have had success with other calls in past elk seasons, i was amazed at the ease of use and the amount of different tones you could get out of each call. Scream "N" Tormentor diaphragm, Mellow Yellow Momma diaphragm, along with the Bully Bull Grunt Tube seemed to be the calls that worked best for me.

Any elk hunter knows early season can be tough for calling in bulls. This year was definitely no exception! The only elk that would talk were herded up already, or the curious satellite bulls. With that being know and a having a herd located, i headed out on the morning of September 3rd with high hopes. It was almost 8a.m.,and up to this point of the hunt the only excitement i had was some bugling back and forth with a 5 point bull on the next ridge while he raked a tree. At this point i had reached the ridge where the herd was two mornings before. I made a couple of soft cow calls and had an immediate answer from what sounded like the herd bull i was chasing. Shortly after hearing the bugle, i heard the herd of elk moving straight to me. Not having much time, i made a quick decision on a setup where i thought i could get a shot while keeping the wind in my favor. Next thing i knew, i was in a stare down with the lead cow at 15 yards. Just when thought i was busted the entire herd of cows surrounded me at distances so close i could hear them breathing. At this point i was on my knees behind a small pine, and all i could do was close my eyes and tuck my head down behind my bow. The bull was just out of sight, but i knew exactly where he was from him screaming less than twenty yards away from my position. Then, i finally saw him in my peripherals coming up out of the drainage less than 10 yards away. I felt helpless as he was standing close enough to where i could almost stab him, but i couldn't move due to his cows that are all around me. Something then spooked the cows, and they cleared the area leaving me and the bull. When the cows where making all the ruckus, i took the opportunity to draw back. The rest of the story is in the picture. The bull grossed 332" and is my largest bull ever!!! Mike Fannaly |

Hunter: Dan Williams Harvest Date: September 26, 2010 Harvest State: Wyoming
Thank you guys for all of your wonderful products we used the Select “A” Bull and the Who’s YRR Daddy cow call. the pitches and all the different sounds you can do with them is truly what serious elk hunters look for. my bugle is hard for my partners to tell if it is a bull or me. I hunted most of the month and several times was calling for up to 20 minutes and the reed is finally showing some wear. we had chances at bigger bulls before they herded up but couldn’t get shots, they were all under 20 yards and looking for a fight or a girlfriend but the terrain was tough. This bull came in at 12 and was totally focused on the action above me had no clue I was there. Double lung 30 yards to his final rest. Thank you again. Sorry we had no camera with us.

Hello Rockie,
Hello, my name is Randy Friedlander and I have been using your calls for years with lots of luck.
Name: Randy Friedlander Date of Harvest: 9/28/10 State of Harvest: Washington
|
| Brief play by play: I had been working a small heard all morning and thought I had been busted when I heard a lot of crashing. The heard bull charged this bull on a 20 yard run. He went away for a brief moment. He came back growling and stopped at 35 yards. Double lunger and the rest is history. I use the "Who's YRR Daddy" cow call and the older "Monarch" bugle. Looks like I might need to update to your newer version.
Thanks for the great calls,
Randy Friedlander

Hello Rockie,
Hope you are having a great season. Got into some screaming bulls and the calls you gave me at Cabela's worked great. Here is a photo of my 5x5 with the Mellow Yellow in tow.

I sat down at 12:45 to eat lunch, when just before I bit into my burrito I heard a bull bugle 200 yards behind camp. I set down my food and gathered up my bow, bugle, bugling bull yellow diaphragm, and license. I went light and left my pack. The bull and I went bugle for bugle as I snuck in to 53 yards from the herd bull. I was 20 yards off the top of the ridge when I heard a bunch of foot steps behind me. They kept running back and forth but would not peak over the ridge. After a few more bugles the scurrying
|
| finally popped its antlers up over the ridge. Now I had to choose. 53 yards at the big herd bull or 22 yards at this 5x6 rag horn bull. Well I went for the chip shot and took the rag horn when he presented me the 22 yard shot. The bull ran 60 yards down the ridge and piled up. Since I was hunting the 4 days by myself I was grateful for the cake pack out. I was able to back the truck to within 125 yards of him. Thanks Rockie for making such great calls.

The Bugling Bull calls strike again in Washington. We bugled lots of bulls in western WA again this year. Thanks again for making a great call. In the last 8 years of bow hunting this is the 18th elk our group has harvested using Bugling Bull Game calls. We also got another 4x5 after this was taken to make it 19 elk.......

Rockie,
I got turned on to Bugling Bull calls last year and absolutely love them. This year I was using the Select A Bull tube with the Steve Chappell "The Challenge" diaphragm.
I was able to locate this bull right after daylight on the 19th, along with six other bulls bugling in the canyon. I could never get a look at him that morning because of the heavy fog moving in and out. I could hear him thrashing in the wallow and bugling on
|
the way up the canyon. I knew that he was bedding up for the day with his cos so I backed out and decided to go back that night.
I went back early in the after noon with my wife and set up as close to the wallow as I could. While we were setting up he started to bugle across the canyon. I spent the next hour bugling back and forth with him. I used the early season calling technique that I read about in your article in Hunting Illustrated. As soon as I cut him off with a bugle he started to destroy a tree. After another bugle he pushed his cows down the canyon and to the wallow. He would bugle back at me but his cows we wanting to go up another draw so I couldn't get him to come to me. As soon as he went up the draw after the cows I took off after him and bumped them. They took off running and so did I. They came out of the draw in front of me and I was able to stop them with a cow call giving me the shot that I needed. Thanks for making such a great product and for having Steve help design such a great call. This is by far my best bull by far. His rough gross is right at 350.
Thanks again,
Matt Davis

Rockie –
Bugling Bull Game Calls have done it for me again! On September 4, 2010, I was using the Raging Bull (brown) diaphragm call, and the signature series Who’s Yrr Daddy that I won in last year’s Bugling Bull Game Calls contest. My brother-in-law was also calling using the Raging Bull diaphragm and the Who’s Yrr Daddy call.
I had hunted opening day and had called in numerous bulls, but I never got a shot. On September 4 we had a bull bugling at first light. He was bugling about every 10 minutes, but he refused to come in. After about an hour of calling, I had decided to try to make a move on the bull. Just as I was getting ready to go his way, he started to close the distance. I settled in and the bull worked his way in to about 22 yards. A soft cow call using the Raging Bull stopped him in his tracks and gave me time for a shot. The picture tells the rest of the story.

| Thank you again for the great calls and the great DVDs. The Full of Bull II DVD has become an annual warm-up and refresher for elk season. The results of using your calls and following your instructions speak for themselves!

Hey Rocky, Bucom and I put down another nice west side bull. I used your new select a bull with the brown reed. I harvested him opening morning 9/7/10 at 9:00 am. I made a bad hit the first shot as u can see in the picture but that's where the action started, I watched him lay down about 100 yards away after the first shot which was about 50 yds. I knew I would have to shot another so I dropped back and snuck around to where I figured he would still be. When I arrived at the location I could not see him, then I heard a crash
|
|
from my left the bull ran right over me as I fell over I dropped my bow and he hooked my rain pants and ripped them from my ankle to my knee and I received a small scratch on my left side, as he ran past. I regained my composer and picked up my bow renocked my arrow and let a cow call to stop him he gave me a split second 30 yard quartering to the left shot and my Muzzy 75 hit its mark the bull went about 50 more yards and found his resting place. Thanks for the tips on calling and for the great products. Bucom and I are looking forward to the next seminar.
